Om man vid unders\u00f6kningen finner omr\u00e5den som avviker fr\u00e5n det normala tar man provbitar (biopsier) fr\u00e5n dessa omr\u00e5den. Om en polyp \u00e4r liten kan den avl\u00e4gsnas helt via kolonoskopet.
